Machine Chronology

Chronologty02

Machine Chronology is a report that analyzes in time order every action the shovel has done. It is broken up into several categories:

  • Bus Off is the time that the DC Bus was not energized
  • Propel is when the machine was in Propel Mode with the brakes released
  • Idle is when the bus is on, but no brakes are released
  • NL Dig is when the bus is on, machine in dig, one or more motion brakes released, but no trucks are being loaded
  • Dig is truck loading operations.

These categories are derived by examination of the internal data of the machine. Dispatch and/or delay codes are not utilized in the analysis.  This allows not only a internal report, but also allows a crosscheck with other pit information systems.

Cycle Timeline

image01902

Cycle Time displays a graphical and tabular picture of the shovel loading activity based on 1 hour segments. Information displayed includes:

  • Cycle Count for that hour.
  • Loaded Tons for that hour.

The data may also be exported into EXCEL, or the graph printed.

Utilization Report

image022

Utilization shows a graphical and tabular summary of the shovel’s operation. The categories are the same as are generated in Chronology.

The chart may be printed and the data may exported.

Dipper Trip Analysis

Dipper Trip Analysis02

One of the biggest maintenance items on a shovel is the dipper trip mechanism. But how can you know how much time is really being lost and therefore when to schedule maintenance?

The MIDAS solution is to monitor the time time between dipper trips. In short, if the time between operations is too small, then the dipper door probably didn’t open the first time. Also included in the report is the tons in the dipper at that time.  This helps distinguish if malfunctions are a result of load, or whether the dipper trip was operated inadvertently.  The data can be exported to EXCEL

Limit Analysis

Limit Analyis02

Limit Analysis provides tabular information on Crowd and Hoist Limit Operation.  i.e. how many time those limits were activated during machine operation. Additionally, information on Boom Jacks is included.  Together, this information provides an indication of how badly the shovel is being abused, or how much care the operator is showing. Information is provided as to the time of day, type of limit, and hoist/crowd positions.

Truck Timeline

image020

The Truck Timeline shows an hour by hour accounting of how many trucks were loaded and the total tonnage loaded for that hour.  The display is in both graphical and tabular form.  The graph may be printed and the table exported to EXCEL for further processing.

Swing Angle Distribution

image026

Swing Angle Distribution is a clear indicator of pit performance.  The report shows in graphical and tabular form the number of occurrences of various swing angles measures as seen during truck load cycles. The chart may be printed and the table exported to EXCEL for further processing.

Cycle Time - Ton Distribution

This report shows how many tons were loaded from which shovel dig cycle times. The data is reported in graphical and tabular form.  The chart may be printed.

Average Tons per Cycle Time

AveTonsPerCycleTime

This report how what the average dipper load is for each cycle time. It is in a graphical and tabular format.  The chart may be printed.
