Thermal Compare allows comparisons of different machines and/or dates. It’s useful for looking at one machine on different dates, or different machines on the same date or time period. This shows the user not only what the temperatures were, but also how they compared in detail to the other machines and/or dates. As a further aid, the fleet average, + and - standard deviations are also shown on the chart.
Step 1: First, Select Machines & Times to Compare by expanding the selection tree.
When you’ve made you selection of machines and dates, then select a Category and Value to Chart.

The plot now shows the values for all shovels/dates selected. The three horizontal lines display the fleet average, +standard deviation, and -standard deviation. Note that these statistical quantities are calculated for the entire database. This has a tendency to make them slightly lower than is real. This is because for the time the machine is off, the values will be lower. This drags the average down a little bit (depending on the machine utilization.
The data plotted is the hourly value. The timescale on the bottom of the chart show the hours. The standard MIDAS log begins at midnight and ends the next midnight. So the chart goes between 24:00 and 23:00 the next day.
